For travelers interested in Japanese beef beyond a steak or a grill-it-yourself meal, Oniku Karyu offers wagyu through a succession of seasonal dishes. The restaurant describes its cooking as meat-focused kaiseki, with Japanese Black beef prepared in different ways across the course.
Its roots are in Ningyocho, but the restaurant now operates in Ginza. For a less familiar station approach, use nearby Takaracho on the Toei Asakusa Line. Do not travel to the old Nihonbashi address shown in older listings.

The Chef’s Connection to Japanese TV
Program: TBS’s Jobtune (ジョブチューン)
Broadcast: December 18, 2021
Segment: Professional Japanese chefs judging Moranbong hot-pot soup products
The official TBS episode page confirms the segment. A secondary episode report names Oniku Karyu chef Haruka Katayanagi among the judges. His participation has not yet been corroborated by an accessible primary-source cast list.
This was a chef-judging segment, not a review of the restaurant’s tasting menu. The photographs here are not identified as dishes shown on the program.
Wagyu Served as a Seasonal Japanese Course
The official menu describes an omakase course using selected A4 and A5 Japanese Black beef. Omakase means leaving the selection to the chef: dish count and preparations change with the season. A named dish in an old photograph should not be treated as a current menu promise.

The archive photographs show small plated preparations, a sea urchin-topped bite, curry with rice, and a rare gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet) style dish. Rare beef cutlets are currently a major draw for international visitors to Japan, and while these archive photos suggest the chef’s creative range, exact recipes and present availability need confirmation when booking.

Getting There: Takaracho and Ginza-itchome
The current restaurant is on the 7th floor of VORT GINZA briller, 1-14-6 Ginza. Its official access guide gives approximately 3 minutes from Takaracho Station, Exit A3, or 2 minutes from Ginza-itchome Station, Exit 10. Higashi-Ginza Exit A8 is about 5 minutes away, and Ginza Exit A13 about 6 minutes.
The restaurant has announced its relocation from Ningyocho. The old entrance and private-room photographs should not be used to identify the current building.
